As management consultant, I am specialised in professional service providers.
After working as an internal adviser at Danone and as an external adviser at Boer & Croon, I have been working independently since 2004 and help professional service firms to develop and realise their strategy.
The importance of a good working relationship and a professional ethic
In the fast developing professional service providers market, stagnation is equal to regression. Service professionals who want to grow must know why they have achieved the trust of their clients. However, many professionals do not have this insight.
Research shows that a client’s trust is based on three factors: expertise, cooperation and a professional ethic. Professional service providers often profile themselves with their expertise, while this is something usually taken for granted by clients anyway. A good working relationship and a professional ethic are at least as relevant for clients as expertise.
If you as a professional know what your clients find important, you will be in a better position to carry out your strategy, in order to then bring about growth.
